This is truly a unique find! A magnificent piece of vintage jewelry that was handcrafted by Elias of Scottsdale, AZ. It was made in the late 1970's or early 1980's. It is a 46-inch braided black leather bolo, fully adjustable on the back. The leather is in excellent condition with no fading, cracking or dryness.
The centerpiece of this beauty is a 14K gold triangle with rounded corners. In the center of the triangle is a 1918 Mexican gold coin. Around the coin are soldered natural gold nuggets. There is a trio of Kingman blue turquoise stones set at the bottom of the triangle, which measures 2 inches on each side.
As if that weren't enough, the bolo is finished off with 14K gold tips, each signed by Elias and with natural gold nuggets soldered around the piece. The tips measure 2.5 inches.
I don't have a gram scale, but the necklace weighs over 3 ounces.
The gold triangle is signed on the back by Elias. The original price of $8500.00 is still written on the back. I think this piece was worn rarely, if ever. It appears brand new with no defects whatsoever. There is an insurance appraisal for this piece dated in 1982, valuing it at $3500 for insurance purposes. See photo. The adjustable clip on the back has been very lighted etched with the former owner's initials, ROG. It was done so lightly that it can probably be polished out if you so desire.
This is really the perfect gift for the man who has everything! It is in perfect, mint condition -- ready for giving.
Insurance on this item is going to be approximately $35.00.
