This is an old, very whimsical pewter tie clasp with a donkey soldered on the front. There is an R within a circle on one of the donkey's hooves. I assume this is an artist's mark, but I'm not sure who it is. The clasp is just over an inch and a quarter long. The donkey is smooth pewter and the bar has some crosshatching. It shows some signs of being well-loved at one time with some vintage wear, but is still a charming and serviceable piece -- a wonderful addition to your collection!
