Wow! was all I could say when I saw this piece. This antique brooch is from the estate of a lady who was given to some large, sometimes flamboyant pieces of jewelry that Make A Statement.  While not really flamboyant, this piece DOES make a statement. Sewn onto a piece of net/mesh backing are gold sequins, silver beads and black bugle beads, 6 prong-set rhinestones that make up the butterfly's body and capped off by a teardrop shaped faux pearl. The pin is a simple safety-pin style.
The brooch measures 4.5 inches by 3.25 inches. It is in excellent condition for it's age, which I believe is from the early 1900's. This is an amazing piece of vintage jewelry -- you'll love it!
