This brooch undeniably shows quite a bit of wear consistent with its age -- I believe this is probably from the 1930s or 1940s. It appears to be pot metal that was plated with silver; a good deal of the plating has worn off, but in such a way that it appears to be aged pewter -- it just has a patina that I really like. It is a floral spray of navette rhinestones, most of which retain good sparkle and clarity. One of the rhinestones shows some darkness and a couple of the others have tiny spots, but all in all, they are in remarkable shape. The brooch measures 4 inches by almost 2 inches at its widest point.
This striking brooch was obviously well-loved and worn and it's now looking for a new home. Could it be yours?
